LIVE LIFE NATURALLY
Happy New Year and Welcome 2018!!! Going into the New Year many make resolutions, though many of those are broken by February. One thing you should do though, is write down your goals! There are many reasons to do this, one of which is clarity. If you don't have a plan, you don't know how you will reach your target. Many of you may have heard of the Harvard study on a graduating class. The graduates were asked if they had goals. 3% had written goals, 13% had goals but only in their head and 84% did not have any goals. Interviewed again ten years later, the 3% who had written goals were earning an average of 10 times as much as the other 97 percent of the class COMBINED. That is how powerful written goals can be.
You should have goals for all aspects of life. . Your goals should be specific, measurable , attainable, realistic and have a timeframe attached. (SMART ) You should also break them down and have a three-step (or how many steps you need) plan on how you will achieve them. And remember, you should state your goals in a positive statement.
Happy Goal Setting.......
We were invited New Years Day to our lovely friends Sandi and Dan's. It was a fun evening filled with friendship and love. I brought desert. I had some fruit in the refrigerator that I really wanted to use so I whipped up this recipe. It was Vegan friendly and gluten free! I kind of winged it so the amounts below are rough estimates. You can really use any mixture of fruit you have on hand and it was yummy if I do say so myself.
4 small golden delicious apples
8 oz blueberries
16 oz strawberries
1 tbs lemon juice
1 1/2 cups rolled oats (I used organic gluten free oats)
1 tbs Cornstarch (I used gluten free)
1/3 cup organic Coconut sugar (You could also substitute brown sugar)
1 tsp ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Clove
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup Organic Coconut sugar (You could use regular or any substitute you want)
1/2 cup chopped Pecans and Almonds (You can use what you have or omit if you don't want)
1/2 cup cold Vegan butter (You can substitute real butter.)
Heat your oven to 350 F. Mix oats, nuts, 1/3 cup Coconut sugar, clove, cinnamon, salt then mix in cold Vegan butter. Blend until combined, set aside.
In a pot combine apples, blueberries and strawberries. Add lemon juice until coated. Turn on to medium heat then add cornstarch and 1/2 cup Coconut sugar. Stir gently until blueberries start to burst open and a sauce thickens. About ten minutes. I also added a sprinkle of cinnamon, two drops of doTerra Clove oil and a little salt to the fruit to help flavor it a bit more.
Pour mixture into 8x8 dish. I sprayed mine with an olive oil spray. Sprinkle topping evenly over fruit mixture. Bake uncovered about 20-25 minutes.
My newest book I'm reading is called The Emotion Code. This book is written by Dr. Bradley Nelson and discusses how many ailments in our bodies are caused by emotional blocks we have. Some blocks are from when we were young and other created recently. He talks about removing the blocks and how doing so has helped cure people in many different ways. Quantum Physics has been around for over a hundred years, yet scientists are still discovering how our bodies energy has amazing affects on ourselves and the outside world.
I'm just about four chapters in but finding it very interesting. The link below is for your free copy to either download to read or listen to. You can also order on Amazon and pay for a hard copy but free is always fun! I would enjoy a discussion group about this so please reach out to me if you decide to read the book.
Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2018!!!
